Heather + Andrew’s wedding

Heather and Andrew were married in October of 2016.  The Fall is definitely one of my favourite seasons.  All those rich colors, cozy sweaters and wool socks, and of course your favourite cup of Starbucks.

#TBT – Steven + Don’s wedding

Posted by Carole in Wedding Flowers

Steven and Don have been long time clients of Flower Towne and we were honoured when they asked us to design their wedding flowers.  This wedding goes back to the Fall of October 2014.  The boys loved the idea of a Gatsby themed wedding, and also asked that we include their favourite color …red!

Julie + Zack’s wedding

Julie and Zack exchanged their “I do’s” this past July.  To say it rained that day would be an understatement, but I’ve heard it said that it’s good luck to get rain on your wedding day.

There is so much I can say about Mia and Dale.  These people are as kind and genuine as it gets!  Dale and Mia own their tattoo shop, Pricked Tattoos in Lively.  I was so happy when I heard they were getting married and even more so when Mia asked me to arrange her flowers for her.

OUR BUSINESS BLOOMS!!

Flower Towne is included in list of leaders of the seasonal flower movement!

Often alongside the eponymous pastel colored Peeps and plastic eggs seen everywhere this time of year are pots of Easter lilies. A symbol of life and re-birth, the trumpet-shaped flowers are considered by many to be a symbol of spring.

Field to Vase in Sudbury

Posted by Carole in Growing Tips

I am sure you’ve heard the term “Farm to Table”. This usually refers to locally sourced fresh produce, which as you know not only tastes better, but also supports the local economy.  Did you know that there is also a “Flower Farm to Table” movement as well?  Also referred to as the “Field to Vase” movement.  It’s a very big deal in other parts of the world, and it’s definitely making its way to Canada.

Val + Darren’s wedding

When I think about Val and Darren’s wedding, I think about all that glitters.  The theme for this wedding was definitely all about the bling.  When my long time client and friend Joyce came to me, asking if I could do her son Darren and his fiance Val’s wedding, I just knew that it would have to sparkle!

Fall in love with Fall

Posted by Carole in Special Deliveries

sudbury florist, fall flowers

As is the case for so many people, Fall is definitely my favourite time of year.  The air is so fresh and crisp which makes me want to put on a big sweater and some woolies.  It’s usually the time of year that I like to reflect on all of the work we have done throughout the year, and especially all of the beautiful florals we created during the bridal season.

Definitely one of the nicest couples we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.   Not only were they enjoyable to work with, but their vision of a Midsummer night’s dream for their wedding was so much fun to be a part of.

Christa + David’s Wedding

Posted by Carole in Wedding Flowers

Happy Friday. We’re ending the week with a lovely wedding that took place earlier this Spring. The beautiful bride Christa wanted the florals to have a romantic, soft and pretty look and feel.  For this reason we chose delicate blooms such as peonies, astilbe, spirea, ranunculus and fragrant garden roses, as well as dollar eucalyptus, dusty miller and other foliages.

Danielle + Jason’s wedding

Meet Danielle. She had such a pleasant demeanor, and I just knew I’d love working with her.  You know how you can just tell when someone is genuinely a nice person, even though you don’t know them from a hole in the ground?  Danielle had that effect. It was something in her eyes I think….  Anyway, let’s talk about her flowers.

Danielle loved the idea of ivory and blush flowers for her wedding, and she wanted her bouquet to be round and full.

Kati + Brendan’s wedding

Happy hump-day! And what a beautiful sunny winter day we are having in Northern Ontario Canada!  Although I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a “winter person”, my honey convinced me to take a walk on the frozen lake at the cottage this past weekend, and I was actually surprised at how refreshing it was to get outside and get active. I have a feeling that if I start actually enjoying this colder season, it might make it go by faster!

Anyway, I hope you are somewhere enjoying the beautiful weather and that you also get to enjoy this perfectly peachy wedding that’s on the blog today…

Foxglove love

Posted by Carole in Growing Tips

I’ve always been a big fan of Foxglove blossoms. Maybe it’s because they’re the type of flower you’d likely find at a cottage, and for me, my cottage is like my own little piece of paradise. Last year I decided to sow a few Foxglove seeds in my greenhouse. Although they grew nicely, they didn’t produce any blooms. They are a biennial flower, so I figured they would probably bloom this year…and they did.

What’s new in the garden

What did one raindrop say to another? Two’s company, three’s a cloud!

Today it rained…and rained…and rained. That’s ok though, my garden was thirsty. When it finally stopped raining, I decided to slip into my boots and take a few pics.
