The Sudbury Star’s Readers Choice Awards are a wonderful way to recognize some of the truly special businesses offering products and services in the City of Greater Sudbury. This year we not only had the honor of being nominated, but we were also in fact voted as the favourite flower shop in Greater Sudbury! Yay us!
A little history on Flower Towne…
The first owner of this shoppe was Doris Spadafore. I believe she officially opened Flower Towne back in 1970…the year I was born! Although I never had the pleasure of meeting her personally, from what so many people have told me, she was a wonderful lady. Although Doris has since passed away, her family still regularly orders their flowers from our store. In fact, a few years ago we had the pleasure of designing her grand-daughter’s wedding flowers.
The second owner was Lori Stevens. She worked for Doris for several years, and then decided to purchase the store from her. She owned it for 10 years.
Finally my husband Mike and I purchased it from Lori in 2007. I had never worked in a flower shop, and didn’t know much about flowers at all. I was an avid gardener though and I had always considered myself to be a very creative person…. so off I went! Here we are 9 years later. Our daughter Josee also works here, and has definitely inherited that creative gene. I can’t say that it was always easy, but the ups and downs were well worth it. We’ve worked very hard and established a great reputation for excellent quality and service, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing staff and awesome customers!! If you haven’t been to our shoppe, we’d love to meet you! Please come and say hello!
